Temporary Folders
To avoid unnecessarily high data change rates and excessive use of network
bandwidth, the user's temporary folders need to be excluded
from LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service backup.
LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service Agent version 3.1.2 and later automatically exclude the temporary
folders.
If you are running an earlier Agent version, you must manually create the exclusions.
Also, if your computer is configured
to use directories other than the defaults (as specified below), you must
manually create the exclusions.
In the tree view on the Files to Backup tab, you
will see the icon for the
automatically excluded directories and subdirectories. Parent
directories of the automatically excluded directories are marked in
MyLiveVault with one of the "partially excluded" icons, either
(if a parent directory is selected), or
(if a parent directory is not selected).
Windows NT 4.0
The temporary directory is specified by the value
of %TEMP%. For example, if the value is C:\Temp, create the
exclusion:
Exclude C:\Temp\*
Windows 2000/2003
The default per-user temporary
directories are based on the registry value of ProfilesDirectory.
For example, for the default value %SystemDrive%\Documents and
Settings, where %SystemDrive% value is C:, create the exclusion:
Exclude C:\Documents and Settings\*\Local Settings\Temp\*
