Recycle Bin
Microsoft Windows stores deleted files in the Recycle Bin.
If LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service is backing up all the files on your computer,
then files that you delete can be restored from LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service.
This makes backing up the Recycle Bin redundant.
LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service Agent version 3.6 and later automatically
excludes the common Recycle Bin directories for each fixed drive on your
computer. If you are running an earlier Agent version, you must manually create
the exclusions. Also, if you are using other directories for the Recycle Bin,
you must manually create exclusions for those directories.
The following directories are commonly used for the Recycle Bin:
<vol>:\Recycler\*
<vol>:\Recycled\*
For example, if your C: fixed drive uses the Recycler directory, and your
D: fixed drive uses the Recycled directory, create the following exclusions:
Exclude C:\Recycler\* (plus subdirectories)
Exclude D:\Recycled\* (plus subdirectories)
In the tree view on the Files to Backup tab, you
will see the icon for the
automatically excluded directories and subdirectories. Parent
directories of the automatically excluded directories are marked in
MyLiveVault with one of the "partially excluded" icons, either
(if a parent directory is selected), or
(if a parent directory is not selected).
