Praetor for Microsoft Exchange

Praetor for Microsoft Exchange (from Computer Mail Services, Inc.) has been run on a computer with  LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service.

There are additional configuration steps that you need to perform to run Praetor software and LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service on the same Agent computer. If you require assistance, contact Customer Service.

To avoid unnecessarily high data change rates and excessive use of network bandwidth, the Praetor inbound, outbound, and quarantine directories and their subdirectories must be excluded from LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service backup.

You must manually create these exclusions.

The Praetor home directory is specified in the registry key:

HKLM\Software\Computer Mail Services, Inc.\CMS Praetor value Datapath

This is commonly:

\Program Files\CMS Praetor

Append the subdirectories for the incoming (\IN), outgoing (\OUT) and quarantine directories (\Quar) to the home directory. For example, if the Datapath value is C:\Program Files\CMS Praetor, append these subdirectories to create the exclusions:

Exclude C:\Program Files\CMS Praetor\IN\* (plus subdirectories)
Exclude C:\Program Files\CMS Praetor\OUT\* (plus subdirectories)
Exclude C:\Program Files\CMS Praetor\Quar\* (plus subdirectories)
