Objects Specified in the FilesNotToBackup Registry Key
Microsoft and other application development companies have specified
that certain files and other objects should be excluded from backup.
These files and objects are specified in the Windows 2000/2003 registry key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup
All LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service Agent versions automatically exclude the specified
files and objects from LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service backup.
In the tree view on the Files to Backup tab, you
will see the icon for the
automatically excluded files and objects. Parent
directories of the automatically excluded files and objects are marked in
MyLiveVault with one of the "partially excluded" icons, either
(if a parent directory is selected), or
(if a parent directory is not selected).
