Viewing a Detailed Backup Status Roll-up for a Computer

You can quickly view a more detailed roll-up of the backup status for a computer using the Summary tab on the Computer Information form.

The status display is dynamic, indicating the progress of the initial backup synchronization (across all data under backup), then of the ongoing backup. The roll-up will always represent the "worst case" or "least complete" status of all the backup configurations for the computer. For example, if one configuration has completed its initial synchronization, and a second configuration is still running its initial synchronization, then the status displayed for this computer will indicate that initial synchronization is still running. Thus, this status will indicate that initial synchronization is complete for the computer only after all backup configurations have completed their initial synchronization.

To view a backup status roll-up for a computer

  1. On the MyLiveVault Home page, the All Computers form lists all the computers on your company account. Click Backup/Restore in the Action column for a computer whose backup status you want to view.

  2. In the Backup Summary section of the Summary tab on the Computer Information form, you will see the following backup status information for that computer:

    • Current overall status of backup for this computer, for example, Initial synchronization or System operating normally.

    • Schedule information indicating when backup will run on the computer, for example, 7x24 or Evenings/Weekends.

    • Backup state information, for example, 2 of 2 backups currently running; synchronization estimated complete in 1 hour 23 minutes.

    • Graphical progress bar if an initial synchronization is running.

    • Amount of data backed up so far from this computer, of the total amount of data selected to be backed up, for example, Backing up 11 of 21 files (41.3 MB of 95 MB).

    • Time span of the most current backup versions for all the computer's backup configurations, for example, Current backups range from: 1/19/2004 8:31:07 AM to 1/19/2004 1:42:17 PM GMT. This indicates the backup version that would be restored if you chose to restore current version.

  3. In the Bandwidth and Latency section of the Summary tab on the Computer Information form, you can choose to view either a Bandwidth Usage chart (indicating the amount of network bandwidth being consumed by LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service for backup across time), or a Backup Latency chart (indicating the average amount of time that has passed from the time a file was updated on your computer to the time it was backed up to the backup server).
